THE U.S. AND ISRAEL WILL TRY TO MERGE THEIR MILITARIES TO PRODUCE DEADLY WEAPONS AND TECHNOLOGY TOGETHER, unless we turn up the heat

What is the Deadly Merger?

The U.S. and Israel want to merge their military systems in order to produce deadly weapons and surveillance technology together. This Deadly Merger is buried inside the annual military spending bill, or National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which Congress will be voting on again soon.

We have a small window of time to block the NDAA, which is why we’re phonebanking nearly every week to make sure Congress knows where their constituents stand.

🔥 THIS WEEK, TURN UP THE HEAT 🔥

Ok, but what is a “phonebank”?

At phonebanks, we call constituents (read: people) of key moveable, influential members of Congress, and patch them directly through to their elected official’s office. These are some of the most pleasant calls you can make, chatting directly with supporters of DSA, USCPR Action, and Adalah Justice Project.

These phonebanks have already driven thousands of calls to Congress, directly contributing to historic votes on the NDAA and arming Israel last month. We have the winds at our back, but so much more to do.

FLOOD CONGRESS WITH LETTERS

sprout sumud

🌱 HONOR THE SEEDS OF CHANGE WITHIN YOU

Everyone can help kindle the fire of our demands: No war on Iran. No weapons for Israel. No ICE in our communities. Every letter will add to a visible record of all the constituents our elected officials have tried to ignore.

Only we get to write the story of our fight to stop funding Israel’s genocide machine. Be part of the story. Put pen to paper and turn up the heat on your members of Congress. We’ve designed our letter template to encourage congressional staff to take a visual tally of their constituents' demands. All you need is a pen, paper, and a stamp.

🍂 GATHER MORE KINDLING

Make it easy for your communities to register their dissent. Ask local event organizers if you can bring supplies for ten minutes of letter-writing. Organize your own letter-writing gathering—whether as a private get-together, or in a community space for the public to join.

You might just lay the groundwork for a viral encounter that prompts a politician to do something to stop arming Israel.

❤️‍🔥 SPARK CONFRONTATIONS WITH POLITICIANS

Publicly challenge your elected officials to stop the brutal bombing of Gaza, Iran, and Lebanon. It often takes one well-poised question at a town hall to rally the community to demand answers. You can bring a stack of letters from constituents with you, or read a letter out loud to make politicians face the voices they’ve been ignoring.

Spread the word and make the confrontation go viral. You can find sample questions to ask and more ideas in this guide.
